Tirana & South Albania 13 days Trip
Day 1:
Arrival-Tirana
Depending on time of arrival in Tirana, we may do a
short city tour before or after check in at the hotel.
In the evening,
we'll have dinner at a traditional restaurant and then
explore the nightlife of Tirana,
walking in the ex-block area known as "the forbidden
town" where the villas of the communists leaders
are still standing next to trendy boutiques, expensive
jewelry shops and active local pubs.

Day 2:
Tirana & Mount Dajti
Begin with a full day city tour.
Tirana is located on the site of a Byzantine fortress
and has been the capital
of Albania since 1920.
Included are visits to the Mosque of
Ethem Bey, the Clock Tower, the National Museum,
National Art Gallery,
Skanderbeg square, The Martyr's
Cemetery, Grand Park and various government buildings.
A visit to the former Communist
Residential area, with modern bars, restaurants and pubs
where the populated
by different age groups, especially
Albanian youth.
Coffee time, in the Sky Tower a
rotated bar, where you can enjoy a Fantastic view of
Tirana
After the Group depart for Dajti Mountain by cable car:
In the Dajti Mountain, you can enjoy the beautiful
scenery, climbing with the Cable Car for 15 min on the
top of the mountain.
The tour continues with a walking tour in green area of
mountain with stops for breath taking.
A
optional lunch will be taken in one of the popular
restaurants.
After
lunch, will take some walking & hiking around there for
few Hours, after return to the Cable Car station and
return in
the city of Tirana. Overnight in Tirana
Day 3:
Tirana- Kruja- Durres
Today you will see examples of an age of unbounded
creativity.
Your morning tour begins from Skanderbeg Square, named
after the Albanian hero the main landmark of the city.
Pilgrims
from far and wide reach the Et'hem Bey Mosque to offer
prayers.
The Clock Tower next to the Et'hem Bey Mosque, National
Museum- north of Scanderbeg Square,The Fortress of
Petrela,
The Palace of Culture, The monument to Mother Albania
and The National Historical Museum are the significant
spots
that catch up the attention of one and all who make a
visit to the city.
Continue the tour with the visit to Kruja–one of the
biggest cities in Northern Albania is the “city of
history” and the
best known as hometown of Albanian’s National Hero
Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.
Visit to the Castle, Skanderbeg Museum and Ethnographic
Museum.
After the visit of the castle, is free for you to
explore Kruja’s old bazaar with authentic and antique
shops.
The route continues to Durres– the ancient Greco-Roman
port city of Dyrrachium.

Day 4:
Durres - Berat
After breakfast we will
drive to Berati , before reaching Berati, we will stop
and visit the Winery of Cobo, were
we can try the best
different red and white wine the best Albanian wine,.
After we go straight to
the Castle, before we visit the Castle we will have
Lunch in Local Restaurant inside the Castle
where It is known as the
“City of one thousand windows” and is declared a Museum
City.
Berat, overshadowed
to the east by Tomorr Mountain 2415 m, and is an ancient
Illyrian settlement founded in
the 4th & 5th
centuries B.C. on the territory of the Illyrian tribe of
Desarettes.
The town is composed
of 3 parts; Gorica, situated on the far side of the
river;Mangalem, situated on the fortress
side of the river
and the Residential quarter within the fortress known as
KALAJA.
The old part of the
city has some religious buildings like mosque and
Byzantine churches.
It is known as the
“City of one thousand windows” and is declared a Museum
City”.
Berat, overshadowed to the
east by Tomorr Mountain 2415 m, and is an ancient
Illyrian settlement.

Day 5:
Berat - Vlore
After Breakfast we
proceed to the ancient Greek settlement of Apollonia –
(founded in 588 BC).
After the visit to Apollonia continue to Vlora – an
historical and coastal city tour takes you to a
sightseeing tour
in Vlora and visit the Independence house
Overnight in Hotel Nimfa Vlora. (Sea view room)
Day 6:
Vlora -Llogora
- Over the ridge of Saint Thanas
The surroundings of Llogora Park have been described as
one of the most "dramatic" mountain & sea panoramas.
It
will be here that our first trekking will take place.
The trekking will offer splendid views of the Vlora bay
and of the western steep slopes of the Karabruni
penisula,
dropping in the waters of the Ionian Sea. (Gradient 600
meters)
In the afternoon, on return, we will have an optional
walk or the possibility to relax in the hotel until it
is time for dinner.
Accommodation: 3 star hotel in Llogora national park.
This family run mountain hotel right in the middle of
the park,
specialized in homemade wine and raki, lamb at the spite
and a variety of tasty mountain dishes to enjoy for
dinner.
Day 7:
Llogara- Dhermi-- Saranda
After breakfast we will drive After breakfast drive up
to Albanian Riviera.
Continue climbing to 3,000 feet where you can enjoy the
best views, as we drive through the fertile slopes and
villages.
Drive along Dhermi, one of the best Albanian beaches,
continue to Himara coastline and stop for a special
lunch,
En route making a short visit to the bay of Porto
Palermo where the castle of Ali Pasha is situated.
Depart for Saranda the hillside town facing the sea,
famous for its magnificent, “Butrinti” archeological
site.
Overnight in hotel Brilant (few meters from the sea.)
Day 8:
Saranda- Ksamil Beach- Butrinti Archeological Site
Today experience an included excursion to Butrinti
Archaeological Site, visit the Temple of Aesclepios,
the Baptistery, Nymph, The Theatre, Lions Gate, the
Acropolis, etc.
Lunch in Ksamil Vilage (Sea Site)“Lekursi Castle
restaurant (built on the ruins of an old castle).
Balance of the day is at leisure to relax or explore on
your own.
Overnight in Hotel Brilant Saranda.
Day 9:
Saranda- Gjirokastra-Durres
After breakfast we will depart to Gjirokastra known as
“Museum City”. In the way we will make a stop and visit,
Visit the “Blue Eye” spring, formed by underground
springs and the unusual continue to Gjirokastra city
where the dwelling houses have the form of medieval
towers constituting a building ensemble with a
characteristic architecture.
Visit the Castle and the Museum of Weapons.
Drive to the museum city of Gjirokastra, birthplace, of
the former iron-fisted dictator of Albania,Enver Hoxha.
Gjirokastra is a strikingly picturesque town, perched on
the side of a mountain above the Drino River.
The tour includes the district museum, housed in the
buildingin which Enver Hoxha was born and
the
pre-Ottoman citadel,a former political prison and now a
weapons museum.

Day 10:
Durres- Lezhe- Shkoder
We start our day driving
towards the town of Lezha where we will be visiting the
ruins of the ancient city of Lissus
and the Monumental tomb of
Skenderbeu, Albanian's national hero.
After a coffee break we
start our journey towards the town of Shkodra where
after a visit to the castle we will have
lunch by the lake of
Shkodra.
In the afternoon we visit
the Mosque the Catholic Church and the traditional
house.
Overnight and dinner will be in a traditional house in
Shkodra.
Day 11:
Shkoder- Koman- Tropoja-Valbona.
Early breakfast and departure for the lake of Komani
where we take the ferry bout
which will sail us for about 2 hours within the narrow
valley of Drini river towards Tropoja.
After a short stop in the town of Tropoja we drive
towards the National Park on Valbona.
After lunch in a traditional restaurant we check in our
accommodation and we have a walking tour in
the Valbona river valley.
Overnight and dinner will be in wooden cottages in
Valbona valley.
Day 12:
Valbona- Bajram Curri
Half day walking around Valbona Valley , afternoon
return to Bajram Curri Town and stay over night in
Hotel Vllaznimi
Day 13:
Bajram Curri – Tirana- Airport
We'll have breakfast in our accommodation and we'll
drive towards the Fierza Lake.
Driving by the lake most of the time, through virgin
nature and scenery
we will arrive in the town of Kukesi where we will have
a short break in the town.
Lunch will be in a fish restaurant near Lezha. In the
afternoon we check in our hotel in Tirana.
